Welcome to PPA Development Hoops

How to Join

Covid - 19 Update:

Throughout the summer, PPA is providing new development players options to train both virtually and in-person.

Virtual Academy

PPA’s Virtual Academy provides all-encompassing training options for athletes, online. PPA will be running live classes for athletes via the Virtual Academy from June 15 through July 31. Live classes will be offered Monday through Friday and each day will have a different focus. The Virtual Academy also provides a library of home workouts that players can access at anytime. New players interested in joining the Virtual Academy can register online. Classes start Monday, June 15 and run through Friday, July 31.

Small Group Clinics

PPA still begin taking small group clinic requests starting Monday, June 22. New players interested in training as a small group this summer should email either Girls Hoops Director Michelle (michelle@ppateam.com) or Boys Hoops Director Eli (eli@ppateam.com).

Read more detailed information on small group clinics below:

  • Clinics will be organized through parent requests. Parents will be able to request a clinic or register to a friend’s clinic through the PPA portal and/or App.

  • Clinic numbers may range from 1 to 8 players. Sessions will last 45 mins and adhere to strict health guidelines. With start dates set for July, parent organizers will be able to decide on the number of sessions per week as well as the number of weeks the clinic will last.

  • Clinics may last a maximum of 4 weeks (this is to ensure consistent coaching). If a group wishes to hold a clinic past the 4 weeks, a new clinic will have to be organized. Individuals who are looking to join a clinic but are not interested in private training will be added to a waitlist and contacted once space is found in one of the other clinics.

  • Specific guidelines on how practices will be run to ensure the safety of our players are outlined in our official policy HERE. This is a detailed document that focuses on the expectations for players, coaches, and parents during this transition period in Maryland and D.C.

The Development Experience

The Development League mixes the best of recreational and travel sports by providing players a chance to play on a team with their friends from their school/ neighborhood, with local practices and games, while also having a real coach who knows hoops and can motivate players to learn, improve and compete.
