Jamie Davin

Jamie is a founding member of the PPA. He leads the team of program directors and coaches with a focus on creating the highest-quality experience for every player, parent, and coach in the organization. 

Background: Captain of American University and DC United U23 team. First team all-patriot league and scholar athlete. Received a Bachelors Degree from American University.

Eli Schwadron

Boys Development Program Director

Eli’s first word was “ball.” He has an extensive knowledge of the game, and he’s excited to be a part of the PPA team. Though Eli didn’t play for the varsity squad at his alma mater, the University of Illinois, he made a name for himself on the intramural courts. He graduated with a BS degree in Journalism. Eli’s top priority is making sure all of his players get the best experience possible.

Eli was a multi-sport athlete at Blair High School and has 8+ years of coaching experience.

Michael McClain

Mike McClain’s love of sports and helping kids lead him to the Player Progression Academy in the fall of 2014. After running soccer programs at every age level for over a year, Mike is proud to help turn the PPA into a multi-sport organization with the introduction of PPA Hoops.
 
Mike was a multi-sport star athlete at Dematha High School, Blair High School, and McDaniel College where he excelled in varsity soccer and basketball while receiving his degree in Business Economics.

Michelle is thrilled to join the ranks of the fantastic team at PPA. Since her first time playing basketball at age 12, Michelle aspired to become a coach at the highest level she could reach. To no one's surprise, her coaching career began 4 years later at age 16 where she oversaw McLean Youth Basketball. Whether playing or coaching, basketball has always been her biggest passion. Michelle played all 4 years of High School and was named Team Captain at McLean. After graduation she became more heavily involved in coaching. She spent time as the JV Head Coach at her alma mater and also coached AAU basketball in the off season. Michelle is excited for the opportunity to share her love for the sport with the entire PPA family!

    Alex Assaf

    League Director, Coach

    Alex is the Tennis Director and Marketing Associate at PPA. She began her coaching career at the age of 14 and has continued to work with students of all ages for the past 11 years. She grew up in the local DMV area and led her high school team all the way to the Virginia State Finals. Alex then continued her tennis career at Duquesne University where she played Division 1 Tennis for 2 years. Her Junior year she decided to pursue her passion for marketing. Alex is excited to bring her expertise in both tennis and marketing to PPA.

    Damario Clarke

    League Director, Premier Coach

    Damario grew up playing multiple sports from an early age. Focusing on basketball in his later years, he has learned the game over that time span and is excited to give back and share his knowledge of the game with the next generation. Damario Has played 3 years of varsity basketball at Northwood High school, has coached at summer basketball camps for 4 years .

  • Kenny Lau

    League Director, Premier Coach

    Kenny is pumped to join the PPA team as a coach and mentor to some of the best young players in the area. Kenny spent most of his school years overseas so he had the opportunity to play basketball on different courts across Asia and Europe. Currently, Kenny is an Account Manager supporting the DoD by day, and an active player on two men's leagues in DC by night. Kenny is excited to help his players grow in skill and confidence while developing an even greater passion for the sport.

    Thomas Gray

    League Director, Premier Coach

    Born in Australia, Tommy has several years of experience coaching in McLean Youth Basketball leagues, working with as young a 7 year olds, and as old as 14 year olds. As a freshman in High School at Brent International School in Manila, he lettered in Varsity basketball. Eventually, he graduated from McLean High School in Northern Virginia. He later attended the University of Alabama, where he worked with the basketball program as a manager for a short period of time.

    Graham brings passion with a southern flair to the PPA all the way from Louisiana. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College of Ohio, where he was a 4-year athlete.

    Joe joined our staff as a Communications Associate. Joe recently graduated from American University with a Communications degree while also playing 4 years of soccer. He has played soccer his whole life and is excited to switch to the coaching side

    Joe grew up playing competitive soccer all over the United States. In high school, Joe received All-Conference honors before going on to be the President of the Soccer Club at Northwest Missouri State University. After graduating, Joe created and directed a youth soccer program in Atlanta that is still active and successful. Joe has extensive experience working with and teaching kids around the world and brings a unique dynamic and perspective to the PPA team

    Michael Worden

    President, Coach

    Michael Worden is a founding member of the PPA. He draws motivation from his own background as a youth soccer star and dedicates himself to making the PPA an organization that promotes and spreads the values of PPA Life. 

     

    Background: First team All-Patriot League player at American University. Four-time scholar athlete. Experience playing with DC United Youth Academy and Cape Town Semi-Professional Team.

    Nikolaj Kapus

    Nik guides the PPA Soccer Programs as the Technical Director. His focus is on developing the PPA Coaching staff, building and improving the PPA curriculum, and working to ensure the highest quality experience for all of our players. Also a founding member of PPA, employs a holistic approach to engage players and set them on a pathways towards success.

    Hello my name is Christopher Milonas and I am currently a senior at George Mason University. I grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia where I have been playing and watching basketball since a very young age. I played basketball for Frank W Cox high school and graduated from there in 2015. I have coached camps through my high school and church.

  • Destinee Morris

    Coach

    Destinee started playing basketball in 4th grade. She went on to letter in varsity basketball for 4 years in high school in Minnesota. She achieved her dream of playing Division I basketball at Army West Point in New York where she helped lead her team to 3 20+ win seasons, 2 WNIT appearances, and 1 NCAA appearance. Currently, Destinee is an Army officer attending medical school at the Uniformed Services University. Destinee is excited to give back to the sport that has given so much to her.

    Isaac Constans

    Isabella Lucy

    Coach

    Isabella began playing soccer in Germany, where she was born, and continued in South Korea and Italy, where she grew up. She was a varsity soccer player and an ODP-Europe member in high school, making captain and division MVP her junior and senior years. She also played in the Italian Serie B league for three years. Isabella is a recent graduate from American University in DC, where she played club soccer and served on the executive board in her last year.

  • Isaiah McNeil

    Coach Isaiah played three years for his high school varsity basketball team in West Orange, NJ.  At his Alma Mater at Rutgers University he also played for the Men’s Club Travel Basketball team.  During the past summers, he has a basketball camp coordinator under one of NJ’’s top winningest high school basketball coach, my former high school coach: Gregory Tynes. Currently he am enrolled in Georgetown’s Sport Industry Management Master’s Program. Not only does he love the game of basketball but he loves the how both basketball and sports can impact the world and youth both on and off the court!

  • Kelly O'brien

    Kelly grew up playing various sports but started playing basketball when she was 8. She played competitively through high school and, although she has stopped physically participating, it still holds a major role in her life. She now focuses her attention on college basketball and is a die-hard Duke fan. She loves the role that basketball has played in her life and is really excited to add a new dimension to her experience through coaching with PPA.

  • LaTavia McQueen

    Coach

    LaTavia began playing basketball at the age of 7. She played competitively throughout grade school and became a 3 year varsity player at her high school in North Carolina. Throughout undergrad LaTavia played in various leagues in Hampton and spent her summers coaching youth basketball at her hometown YMCA.

  • Marcus Waul

    Coach

    I've been playing basketball in grade school and through AAU circuits since 6 until my sophomore year of high school. I unfortunately suffered a knee injury that did not recover properly, limiting my ability to continue playing basketball at a competitive level. I since then started coaching at the age of 18. I am USA Basketball certified and have worked individually with youth basketball players for years.

  • Michael Asadu-Bempah

    Coach

    I have been involved in recreational basketball tournaments and played instrumental basketball and soccer leagues at Frostburg State University. Basketball has and always will be my favorite sport of all time! I graduated from Frostburg State University with a degree in Parks and Recreation Management and a minor in Coaching. I was a former coaching intern for the field hockey and basketball teams at Frostburg State University. I was also the former basketball and soccer coach for the summer camps at the YMCA of Downtown Frederick. My goal is to change kids lives in a positive way through sports!

    Played 4 years of high school basketball in Virginia Beach. Volunteers to help church league basketball, and loves the game.

  • Sabriena Shubert

    Coach

    Sabriena is a senior at Bowie State University, currently studying Child and Adolescents Studies in hopes of becoming a Social Worker. She played basketball at Bowie High School for four years and then went on to play and Prince George’s C.C. As a late bloomer to the game, she can assure you she knows what it takes to compete on a center level. She loves children and sports and hoping to have a great experience with PPA. 

  • Yikalo Tesfamariam

    Coach

    Yikalo grew up in Silver Spring Maryland, and went to Blair high school where He played soccer for the Blazers and coached for the Knights FC where he played club soccer in NCSL. He's a huge Liverpool fan, been supporting since he started watching soccer. He also loves basketball, from watching the Lakers and playing with friends. He has served as treasurer for the UMD club soccer team for the last 4 semesters. He loves teaching and helping people, especially when it involves sports.
