Introducing PPA Premier Soccer Futures: The Starting Line for Tomorrow's Competitive Players

At The Player Progression Academy, we've always believed that the path to competitive soccer should be clear, intentional, and accessible — no matter how young the player. This fall, we're taking that belief and putting it into action with the launch of our newest program: PPA Premier Soccer Futures.
What Is PPA Premier Soccer Futures?
Premier Futures is designed specifically for players in kindergarten and 1st grade (U6–U7) who are ready for something more than a traditional recreational league — but aren't quite ready for the full commitment of a travel team.
Think of it as the on-ramp to PPA's premier soccer family: a structured, high-quality introduction to the game, run by the same licensed coaches who lead our travel programs. Clinics will be co-ed and will focus on what matters most at this age — learning to love the game while building the technical foundation that will serve players for years to come.
Why We Built This Program
Here's the reality: competitive youth soccer leagues don't start until U8. That's always left a gap for our youngest, most eager players — kids who are clearly ready for something more intentional, but have nowhere to go within the premier pathway.
Futures closes that gap.
Rather than having these players wait on the sidelines until they're U8-eligible, we're giving them a place to grow, develop, and get a head start. By the time they're ready for their first league season, Futures players won't just be eligible — they'll have the technical habits and love of the game that set competitive players apart from day one.
What to Expect This Fall
Our inaugural season launches Fall 2026, and here's what families can look forward to:
Two Clinic Options — We know schedules are busy. That's why we're planning to offer two different clinic time slots so you can choose what works best for your family. One during the week and one on the weekend.
PPA's Premier Coaching Staff — Every session is led by our licensed, experienced premier coaches. The same coaches who develop our travel teams will be on the field with your player.
Co-Ed, Technique-First Environment — Sessions focus on introducing the game: ball mastery, movement, basic concepts, and above all, making soccer fun.

Premier Futures isn't only for players new to the PPA family. If your child is currently enrolled in our Development Soccer program, Futures is a perfect way to add an extra session each week and get a taste of training at a higher level. It's a low-pressure opportunity to explore whether the travel pathway is the right fit — while continuing to sharpen technical skills in a more intensive environment. No commitment beyond the clinic, just more touches on the ball and a window into what premier soccer looks like.
The Pathway Forward
Futures isn't just a standalone clinic — it's the first step in PPA's proven premier soccer pathway. Players who develop through the program will be positioned to move into our Development Academy program (U8–U10), competing in the SAM and NCSL leagues, and eventually into our Premier Academy and Elite Academy programs as they grow.
For players who show strong development and whose families are interested, we may also look to form a U7 team in Spring 2027 to compete in the SAM Select U8 league — giving our most engaged Futures players the chance to experience competitive team play even before they officially age into league eligibility.
How to Register
No tryouts. No evaluations. Just show up ready to play.
Enrollment opens May 11th. Families can register directly through the PPA app or the PPA portal online by following the registration flow for clinics — it's quick and straightforward.
