Love the game and want to spend your summer in it? Join our Summer Youth Coach Program and turn your passion for sports into leadership experience. Work with young athletes, build confidence, develop real coaching skills, and be part of an energetic team — all while being around the sport you love. Read below for details, deadlines, and how to apply.

What Would You Do As a Coach?​ The main duties are:

  • Bringing HIGH ENERGY & ENTHUSIASM

  • Helping coaches set up/oversee activities and manage camper logistics.

  • Monitoring campers to ensure compliance with camp & facility rules

  • Maintaining and ensuring proper use of camp facilities & equipment

  • Reporting details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations, to lead camp staff.

 

What Are We Looking For?

The ideal candidate ticks most these boxes-

  • High-level soccer or basketball playing experience

  • Experience at a summer camp (as a camper or helper)

  • High energy, proactivity

  • Positivity, observantness, patience

  • Leadership & maturity

  • Communication skills

The Coaching Positions

Coach In Training (14 - 16 years old)

  • Weekly Compensation: T Shirt & Lunch

  • Experience Level: some to no experience working at a camp

Junior Coach (16 - 18 years old)

  • Weekly ​Compensation: $250 (Year 1), $275 (Year 2), $300 (Year 3)

  • Experience Level: MUST have 2+ years experience as a CIT with PPA Camp OR another sports camp w/ recommendation from their Program Director

    • if your experience is with another program, have the Program Director email a recommendation directly to yikalo@ppateam.com

College-Aged Coaches (including rising Freshman)

  • Weekly Compensation: $400 - $500

  • Experience Level: vast experience w/ PPA or another Camp program: 18 - 21 years old)

 

Logistics of ANY Coaching Position: 

  1. Based on your age as of September 1, 2026. Exceptions can be made for kids with late birthdays who started school on time (with their birth year): reach out to Yikalo@ppateam.com for approval.

  2. All coaches are expected to arrive at 8 am and be dismissed by the Site Coordinator at 3:15 pm
  3. Camps are located at GDS, WES, River School, & the Maret Barrett Fields. View the full schedule HERE.
  4. Coaching Experience is not required, it just helps your application.
  5. CITs are provided lunch daily, Junior Coaches & College-Aged Coaches must bring their own lunch.

 


How to Apply:

Fill out the New Candidate Form below. 

  • The priority deadline to apply is March 20; you'll hear from us no later than March 30.

  • Those who miss the priority deadline: expect a response within 10 business days.

  • We continue adding staff on a rolling basis going into June based on camper #s!
