High Level Coaching
PPA is most recognized for having great coaches. The Premier Coaches are PPA's most experienced and distinguished coaches, trained to fulfill our mission of developing players between the lines, and outside them. All Premier Hoops Coaches are required to be certified by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).
Individual Development
Premier players are put on individualized progression plan to track their progress over multiple years. Throughout the year, premier coaches evaluate players and provide personalized feedback through seasonal 1 on 1 "IDP" meetings.
Year-Round Play
Premier teams play all 4 seasons. During the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons are competing in competitive leagues and tournaments. Most teams practice 2 - 3 times/week with games on the weekends during these seasons. Over the summer, players participate in camps.
Competitive League Play and Tournament Play
We aim to place Premier Teams in the most competitive leagues and tournaments in the region. Teams play in many AAU tournaments throughout the year including the Maryland Invitational, Sixth Man MLK Tournament of Champions, the Spooky Nook Tournament, and in competitive leagues including Force One, Rising Stars, and PVBL.
Film Sessions
Coaches run film sessions with their teams at least 2x/year. During Film sessions coaches will break down game film to provide constructive feedback to the team, improve basketball IQ and build team camaraderie.
Events
PPA Premier players have access to exclusive events at collegiate and professional arenas in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area. A few past events include participating in pre-game warmups at a Mystics game, Free Throw challenge on the court at a Wizards game, and halftime scrimmage at an American University game.
PPA App
PPA has it own phone app to make the lives of parents as simple as possible. Our App allows parents easy access to their schedules, to RSVP to practices and games, to message with their teammates, and get access to exclusive events.
