Train with the Pros: Washington Spirit Stars Headline PPA’s Summer Soccer Camps

This summer, young soccer players at Player Progression Academy (PPA) will get the rare opportunity to learn from some of the biggest names in the game — including Olympic medalists, Champions League winners, and national team captains — as part of PPA’s ongoing partnership with the Washington Spirit.

From July 28 to August 8, four Washington Spirit players will make exclusive appearances at two Spirit-themed weeks of PPA summer camp in the D.C. area.

🌟 Featured Players: Meet the Game-Changers

Each week will feature two visiting Spirit players who bring world-class experience and international accolades:

Week 1: July 28 – August 1

Croix BethuneThe 2024 NWSL Rookie of the Year, Midfielder of the Year, and a member of the NWSL Best XI. A four-time Rookie of the Month, Bethune was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft and recently helped the U.S. Women's National Team bring home gold at the Paris Olympics.
Rebeca BernalA veteran defender and current captain of the Mexican National Team with 65+ caps. Since transferring to the Spirit in early 2025, Bernal has anchored the back line and helped secure a 2025 NWSL Challenge Cup victory.

Week 2: August 4 – August 8

Gift MondayA rising star from Nigeria, Monday played in the 2023 FIFA World Cup and led her national team to its first Pan African Games gold medal in over a decade. She joined the Spirit in March 2025 from Spanish club Tenerife.
Kysha SyllaOn loan from Olympique Lyon, Sylla is a decorated midfielder with three French league titles and a UEFA Champions League trophy. She’s already made her mark in D.C., contributing to the Spirit’s 2025 Challenge Cup win.
