OUR PARTNERS

DC United Partnership
PPA is affiliated with D.C. United Academy’s “Pathway 2 Pro” (P2P) program, offering an exclusive route to professional soccer for its most talented boys. This collaboration with D.C. United and other top DMV youth clubs identifies advanced PPA players for monthly training sessions with peers from other P2P affiliates based on their performance, development, and preparedness. PPA coaches work with D.C. United technical staff in this identification process. If D.C. United considers a player ready for their professional pathway, PPA, D.C. United, and the player's family collaborate to create a developmentally beneficial transition plan to the D.C. United Academy, typically over one to two years with ongoing support. The P2P program provides a unique opportunity for elite PPA players to pursue professional careers.

Washington Spirit
PPA is an official partner of the Washington Spirit, collaborating on curriculum, camps, and coaching to better elevate the female soccer community. Exclusive Appearances by Pro Players Washington Spirit stars like Lena Silano and Anna Heilferty have already joined us at PPA camps to share their journeys and inspire our players. These aren't just photo ops — they’re meaningful, player-to-player connections. Mentorship for Our Female Coaches Through the Spirit’s Female Coaching Mentorship Program, our coaches receive ongoing training and support. This strengthens our technical staff and promotes gender equity in youth coaching, one of our core values. Unmatched Game Day Access From group outings at Audi Field to behind-the-scenes matchday experiences, our players and families get to see the game played at the highest level — while seeing themselves in the pros on the field.

FAQ's
Rain Policy:
Decisions on field closures are made as late as possible in order to give the best possible chance for training or games to be played. Please check the Montgomery Parks Rainout Line at (301) 579-5610 for field closures. If a field closure is not reported on the hotline, it is at the discretion of the training program coach/administrator to determine whether training or games are cancelled. It is always a good idea to check with your coach or manager via the PPA Portal.
Heat Policy:
The risk of heat related illness from vigorous sports activity increases with the temperature. Hot weather is considered at any point where the Heat Index reaches or exceeds 90. Coaches should follow the following procedures based on conditions:
-
Heat Index up to 89°: Normal Play. Regular hydration patterns
-
Heat index of 90°- 95°: Mandatory water breaks every 25 minutes.
-
Heat index of 96°-102°: Mandatory water breaks every 15 minutes.
-
Heat index at or above 103° (at start of training): All outside activity cancelled
Thunder & Lightning Policy:
At the first sign of lightning/thunder, all coaches, players, referees and spectators are to withdraw from the field and seek proper shelter.
Coaches should follow the 30 minutes rule and wait at least 30 minutes after the last lightning flash or thunder before giving the “all clear” signal and resuming training or games.
Winter Weather Policy:
Cold weather increases the risk of muscle injuries (pulls or tears) in players. To prevent this, players should wear suitable attire that retains body heat while allowing free movement and ensuring safety. Generally, training will be cancelled if the wind chill-adjusted temperature is forecast to be below 25°F at the start. High school teams may occasionally choose to train at or below this temperature.
